Proverbs 15:29
The LORD is far from the wicked but he hears the prayer of the righteous. [NIV]

I remember the first year I read the bible through to the end. I came upon the book of Proverbs and thought I really liked it; but that it was so redundant! Of course it isn't really, but when you have a mind that is still needing regeneration and renewing, it all is Greek and Hebrew to us. Amen?

However, in reading scripture today, I was really taken back by this little line. I pondered for a moment and then decided that this is a real problem for many people, that their prayers are not answered. That is why we have have sites like Patti's Prayer and Praise Page, to find the righteous out there that will pray for those who don't have the faith yet, or are in need of regeneration yet and need help in generating the move of the Spirit in time of crisis.

We all fall short of the glory, so even I, who prays faithfully, need help in time of crisis too. That's why we are family, we pray together in agreement to move heaven and earth to the powers of prayer and faith. Amen!

But what really hinders prayer, even of the one who most times walks upright? It is lack of repentence. Repentence is such a large word, with an equally large meaning. If we walk into the throne room with our muddy feet, we are ushered out just as quickly as we come to the gates of heaven! Repentence means to turn away from sin, resist the devil, and be cleansed by the blood of Jesus in our thoughts/emotions and also our hands. It means that you need to bite the dust, get on the floor with your belly pressed against it. You will be so surprised when you start hearing from the Lord when you humble yourself in this fashion.

Leviticus 7:20
But the person who eats the flesh of the sacrifice of the peace offering that belongs to the LORD, while he is unclean, that person shall be cut off from his people. NKJV

You see, if your hands are not cleansed and your heart is not circumcised, we can't even get an audience with Him. Even praise and worship is not acceptable to Him if your heart and/or hands are not clean before Him. When you are CUT OFF from His people, you are out of the Spirit and out of unity with God and His people.

Psalm 51:17
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart-- these, O God, You will not despise. NKJV

Pray to God this small prayer with belly on the floor. You will have a different view of things:
Create in me a clean heart O God, that I may come to you always with a broken and contrite heart so that you will not despise my prayers O Lord. I commend to you my heart, and my hands to labor onto you for the coming of the Lord is near at hand. Keep my heart repentent and my hands free from sin that my sacrifice of praise into the house of the LORD and cause the captives of the land to return as at the first, amen O Lord.
